10 Reasons to Work in West St. Paul

Evolve Workplace is located in the first-ring suburb of West St. Paul, which is directly south of downtown St. Paul. Despite a somewhat confusing name, we think West St. Paul has a lot to offer:

  1. Food Options
West St. Paul has long been known for a wealth of restaurant options. In recent years it’s become increasingly diverse, with Ethiopian, Thai, Cuban, and more. Whether you need a lunch option beyond the golden arches or a sit-down for a business meeting, you’ve got plenty of choices in West St. Paul.

  2. Parks & Trails
Not only does West St. Paul have plenty of parks, but many are easily accessible from Evolve. The River-to-River Greenway Trail is directly across the street, giving quick access to Marthaler Park and Thompson Park, plus the Dome. It’s perfect for an afternoon walk. The West St. Paul Sports Complex is also just down the street.

  3. Easy Access
The city’s motto used to be “Close to it all,” and they’re not wrong. We’re 10 minutes from downtown St. Paul, and there’s easy freeway access from Highway 52 and I-494.

  4. Active Local Organizations
There are a number of local organizations doing incredible work in West St. Paul. They’re active, whether it’s the Rotary Club serving meals or South Robert Street Business Association giving away money.

  5. Wentworth Library
When Wentworth Library reopened after a 13-month closure for renovations, a thousand people showed up to celebrate. This local library, located across the street from Evolve, is a true gem and community gathering place.

  6. Engaged City
The City of West St. Paul is actively engaging local businesses. Community Development Director Ben Boike shared his thoughts with us a few years ago, and they continue to make progress, hosting business happy hours and more. It’s the kind of attention you won’t get in a larger city.

  7. Engaged Community
Beyond city government being engaged, the citizens are actively engaged. There’s a lot happening in West St. Paul that’s people-powered, whether it’s new businesses, community events, art projects, and more.

  8. Affordable
Part of what makes West St. Paul a welcoming community is that it’s still affordable. It has a long history as a blue collar community, and while housing prices continue to climb everywhere, West St. Paul remains relatively affordable.

  9. Manageable Traffic
Yes, every community has traffic. We won’t pretend West St. Paul is immune, but it’s manageable. A series of roundabouts installed in recent years keeps traffic moving instead of the stop-and-go at four-way stops.

  10. Evolve
Finally, if you’re looking for a place to work, West St. Paul has Evolve Workplace. We’re a coworking space with all the extras, from WiFi to warehouse. There’s room for your office and a place to host your next meeting, no matter the size.

West St. Paul—we’ve got it all (as the song declares). Come check out Evolve and do your work in West St. Paul.
