With warming weather it’s time to embrace summer fun with a list of nearby summer events in West St. Paul. Mark your calendar and take a break from work.

May

Things start early with events in May:

  • May 8 - 6-8 p.m. – Art & Craft Supply Swap at City Hall - A free event to encourage the reuse of crafting materials.

  • May 17 - 3-6 p.m. - Rock the Barn at Dodge Nature Center - The annual farm and music festival with all kinds of outdoor activities.

  • May 18 - 1:30-3 p.m. - Bike Rodeo at West St. Paul Sports Complex - Bike safety event including free helmets (while they last), minor bike repairs, bike safety instruction, and short bike ride.

  • May 24 - 2-4 p.m. - Mexican Folklore Dancing Event at Two Rivers High School - ALMAS presents a dance heritage event with food trucks and more.

June

School’s out and summer’s on! June is dominated by annual events in West St. Paul and South St. Paul:

  • June 5-8 - Explore West St. Paul Days at various sites across the city, including a medallion hunt and a city-wide garage sale.

    • June 5 - 5:30-7 p.m. - Marthaler Park Grand Re-Opening at Marthaler Park.

    • June 5 - 7 p.m. - Open Eye Theater Puppet Show at Turbo Tim’s.

    • June 6 - 6-10:15 p.m. - Food trucks, concert & fireworks at the WSP Sports Complex - The night kicks off with a police K9 demo at 6:15 and then concert with Free and Easy at 7 p.m., plus fireworks at approximately 10:15 p.m.

    • June 7 - 10:30 a.m. - Parade on Charlton Street - Come on out for the annual West St. Paul parade and stay for West Fest.

    • June 7 - 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. - West Fest at Harmon Park - After the parade, Harmon Park will host food trucks, vendors, activities, and more.

    • June 7 - 2:30-6:30 p.m. - Explore 1800 Oakdale - Clothesline Laundromat and El Destino Market host an event with bounce houses, cultural performances, discounts, and more.

    • June 7 - 6-10 p.m. - Food trucks & concert at the WSP Sports Complex - Another night of food trucks and a concert from Ragtown.

    • June 8 - 8:30 a.m. - West St. Paul Rider at Marthaler Park - A 6.2-mile family bike ride around West St. Paul.

    • June 9 - Noon-3 p.m. - Take a Kid Fishing at Thompson Park - A free, instructional event with no experience or equipment required.

  • June 14 - 10-10:45 a.m. - Circus Manduhai at Marthaler Park - Circus and acrobatic skills by the Mongolian group, Circus Manduhai.

  • June 14 - 1-3 p.m. - Library Summer Discovery Kickoff at Marthaler Park - Games and activities to kickoff Wentworth Library’s summer reading program.

  • June 20 - 6-9 p.m. - Summer Solstice Party at Thompson Park - A free festival with music, food, and fun.

  • June 26 - 9 a.m.-1 p.m. - Thompson Park Activity Center Flea Market at Thompson Park - Food, music, and flea market vendors.

  • June 26-29 - Kaposia Days at various sites throughout South St. Paul, including a medallion hunt. Here’s a selection of the many events as a part of Kaposia Days:

July

Summer fun continues in July:

  • July 12 - 11 a.m.-4 p.m. - WSP Pride at the WSP Sports Complex - The annual LGBTQ+ Pride event with performances, vendors, food trucks, charity auction, and more.

  • July 19-20 - Middle Eastern Festival at St. George Church - A cultural celebration including food, dancing, kids’ activities, and camel rides.

  • July 23 - 1-3 p.m. - Pounded Botanical Printing at Southview Park -The Textile Center presents a drop-in to create beautiful floral prints on bookmarks with a mallet or rock, using flowers you see every day.

August

Things slow down in August as people get ready to head back to school:

  • August 19 - 2-2:45 p.m. - Reptiles Around the World at Thompson Park - Meet reptiles both large and small, common and rare from around the world, presented by Snake Discovery.
