3 years ago, Mike and Misty Leonida thought they would be celebrating Halloween with costumes, kids banging on the door in search of candy, sugar highs, and late bed times. What they got, however, was an unexpected seizure putting their son Eli in the hospital along with an Epilepsy diagnosis.
In hopes of getting rid of the mounds of candy staring at them, they let the community in on their story, hoping to simply rid the house of all the sugar! What they got was a community of neighbors, local businesses, and even the local news, taking notice. Thus, the Halloween Re-Do was born! What started as extra candy ended up becoming a huge community event to bring awareness to Epilepsy and provide support to those suffering. Over the years, Misty and Mike have helped raise more than $1,000 for the Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota, an amazing feat for a fundraiser that is once a year for just a couple hours!
Thanks to community members like Misty and Mike, we are able to help bring awareness to an amazing cause. We are proud to donate our Server Room space so our community can keep warm and support an amazing foundation. There will be candy, games, prizes, and more candy. This is a FREE EVENT, so dust of the kids favorite Halloween costume and Trick-or-Treat with us!
