How to Build Connections With Local Businesses

One of the early lessons many business leaders learn is that we can’t do it all by ourselves. We all owe our success to the teachers and mentors who taught us important lessons and the boss or client who gave us that first big break. Success in the business world is often about forging connections. We encourage, support, and help one another. So let’s explore how you can build those valuable connections locally.

Spend Time Connecting

Connections don’t happen automatically. It requires work. You have to meet with people and forge relationships.

That can happen at Evolve Workplace by striking up conversations. Instead of holing up in your office, spend some time in the common areas. Be intentional about connecting with your coworking neighbors.

The business lunch is another great way to connect. You have to eat anyway, so spend that time networking with a colleague.

Join a Local Organization

Another more intentional way to build connections is by joining a local organization. There are a number of options, from local chambers of commerce to service organizations.

Take the Time to Give Back

The best way to build connections is to be invested in your local community. Find ways to give back, whether it’s making donations to local causes or showing up at volunteer events. From schools to scouts, there are so many local organizations that could use support.

Step up and be a part of your local community. More people will learn about your organization and you’ll help build a stronger community. Everybody wins.
